Subject: Teaching Lab Supplies
Hello fellow FUN folks,
I am about to teach a behavioral neuroscience laboratory course for the first time. As part of this, I would really like my students to get experience looking at sections of rat brains under the microscope. In time, I hope to be able to take them through the process of preparing the tissue themselves, however, I do not think all of the necessary equipment will be available to do this the first time around. As such, I am wondering: are there any commercial (or other) sources of prepared (Nissl stained) microscope slides of rat brain coronal sections for teaching purposes? I've been searching, but I have not found what I am looking for. Eventually, I will just make my own, but it would be a big help to have a starter supply. If anyone knows of a vendor that might specialize in this, I would greatly appreciate your input.
Thank you!
Best,
Jean-Marie Maddux
