I am teaching a lab-based course called Applied Neurobiology next quarter, and the course will involved recording from crayfish, cockroach, and snail, with some EEG on ourselves to boot. I plan to require “Neurons in Action”, but don’t want to require a comprehensive textbook due to the expense, and the fact that I won’t cover most of the content therein. NIA is great, but I think some students might want something that is more readable rather than a lab manual. I like Matthews Cellular Physiology of Nerve and Muscle, and used copies are only $30. Any other suggestions? thanks
