Also, I just noticed that Cellular Physiology of Nerve and Muscle by Matthews is available as PDF from the Wiley Online Library, to which many libraries subscribe. So it is free to our students, and maybe to yours. I found it very easy to read, and focused on the basics.

I plan to require “Neurons in Action”, but don’t want to require a comprehensive textbook due to the expense, and the fact that I won’t cover most of the content therein. NIA is great, but I think some students might want something that is more readable rather than a lab manual. I like Matthews Cellular Physiology of Nerve and Muscle, and used copies are only $30. Any other suggestions? thanks
