Positions in Cell & Molecular Neuroscience
The Neuroscience Department at Pomona College is seeking applications for a one-year
visiting assistant professor position (with the possibility of a second year) in Cell &
Molecular Neuroscience beginning Fall 2017. This faculty member will participate in
teaching at least two of the following courses: Introductory Neuroscience with Lab,
Developmental Neurobiology with Lab or another upper-division Cellular/Molecular
Neuroscience course of the candidates choosing. The teaching load for this position is
five courses, and labs are counted as a course. The Neuroscience Department is housed in
the well-equipped Lincoln/Edmunds, Richard C. Seaver Biology and Seaver South
Buildings. The department supports visiting faculty members’ pursuit of independent
research, particularly with mentorship of senior thesis students. In addition, the ideal
candidate will have demonstrated experience working with students from diverse
backgrounds and a commitment to improving higher education for underrepresented
students. Post-doctoral experience and/or prior teaching experience is preferred.
