Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student
learning, research, health care, and service is seeking applicants for a
nontenure-track *Assistant Professor *in Neuroscience in the Department of
Biology to begin in August 2017. This position will support the
interdisciplinary
undergraduate major in Neuroscience that is jointly administered by the
Departments of Biology and Psychology. Applicants should have a Ph.D.,
teaching experience, and a commitment to undergraduate student mentoring.
Post-doctoral research experience is strongly preferred. The successful
candidate is expected to teach Introductory Cellular, Molecular, and
Systemic Neuroscience and an advanced senior seminar in neuroscience. In
addition, the successful candidate will serve as lab coordinator and
instructor for a Neuroscience Laboratory course. In future years, the
successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach an upper level
neurobiology elective course such as neurophysiology, neuropharmacology,
neuroethology, computational neuroscience, or a topic in the candidate’s
area of expertise. Applicants must have a strong background in
neuroscience, a commitment to teaching excellence, and a desire to advise
and teach a diverse student body.
