CALL FOR FUN POSTER SESSION ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS

The FUN Undergraduate Poster Session showcases research conducted and presented by undergraduate researchers. This year's poster session will be held on Saturday November 13 from 6:30-10:00 pm at the McCormick Convention Center in Chicago. This event allows students to make contacts with other undergraduate students and with potential graduate school advisors who attend the meeting. Any undergraduate attending the main Society for Neuroscience meeting may present if sponsored by a FUN member.

Each FUN member in good standing can sponsor one submission for the FUN Poster Session. In addition, Institutional members can sponsor one submission. In 2021, we will have approximately 110 poster slots available to be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must register for the SfN meeting to participate in the FUN Poster Session, but do not need to present their poster at the main conference.

Please note that students who have applied for a FUN Travel Award still need to submit their abstracts here to secure a poster board for the presentation.

Faculty should not sponsor a submission unless they can confirm that the student can attend the session in person. Please be sure that you are current on your FUN faculty dues at funfaculty.org before having your student submit their abstract.

This call for abstracts will remain open until 110 submissions are received, and will close at that time, or by October 15, whichever occurs first.

Students should go to funfaculty.org, download the abstract template file, and edit it to create their abstract using Microsoft Word. Abstracts should be submitted via email to Dr. Mary E. Morrison at morrison at lycoming.edu<mailto:morrison at lycoming.edu>, with the presenting student's last name and FUN Abstract in the Subject line (example: Morrison FUN Abstract). Full contact information for the presenting student and the mentor should be included in the body of the email, and the abstract should be provided as an attached Microsoft Word file-not a link to an external website or other location. Submissions without presenter and mentor contact information in the accompanying email body will not be accepted. No edits will be made after email submission. Abstract submissions will be confirmed with a return email to the presenting student.

Poster Boards are 4' x 6' in size, so please be sure your poster will fit completely on your board.

For students who are unable to attend the Society for Neuroscience meeting in person this fall, or who desire another opportunity to present their work, FUN will sponsor NURVS II, the Neuroscience Undergraduate Research Virtual Symposium, in late spring 2022. Watch for separate notices regarding NURVS II on the FUN website and FUN listserv.
