Hello FUN Members,
The FUN Final Friday team has prioritized the topics you suggested back in July and now comes to you with a request to help facilitate a session. Please let us know if given your experience with (novice-level is welcome), ideas on, and/or an interest in kicking off a conversation and discussion on any of the following topics:
* upper-level course embedded research experiences (CUREs)
* helping students develop metacognitive skills related to thinking and learning in the classroom
* best practices in working with model organisms
* facilitating difficult conversations
* managing faculty burn out (we are also happy to hear about effective facilitators you might have learned from that we could invite)
Follow this link<https://forms.gle/8SHiLG6SzVxxN61b8> to share your interests, and again, this is not meant to be an onerous task, just an opportunity to share what you know so that your FUN colleagues can more deeply think about it as well. These sessions will take place in the new year so nothing will be asked of you soon.
Our Zoom gathering on Friday, September 24th, at 4 pm (EDT) will feature a Student Panel with representatives from several campuses to respond to questions about how students are experiencing a return to in-person teaching this fall. Please use this link to register for the September FUN Final Friday Meeting<https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJAkfuGsqzkiHtHeZ6uOp4B2ehPtFaagcyRn>.
Looking forward to your responses and seeing you on Sept 24th!
Amy Jo
