The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Regis University in Denver, CO invites applications for a tenure-track position in neuroscience at the Assistant Professor level, beginning August 1, 2022. The successful candidate should be able to teach the following courses: Introduction to Brain and Behavior, Research Methods and Behavioral Statistics, and a course or courses in their specialty area. Preference will be given to candidates who can also teach either Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiology or Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience. Teaching in the Regis College core curriculum is also expected of all faculty members. Our department is committed to building a culturally diverse faculty and strongly encourages applications from minoritized candidates.
The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience is part of Regis College, the traditional undergraduate liberal arts college of Regis University that serves approximately 2000 traditional undergraduate students (~50% of which are students of color; ~26% of which are first-generation college students). The department offers a B.S. degree in neuroscience with about 65 majors. We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in neuroscience or a related field. The candidate should be dedicated to excellent undergraduate teaching, plan to maintain an active research program that engages motivated undergraduates in their research, and be committed to mentoring students of color and first-generation students. The department has outstanding teaching and research facilities including an animal facility for housing rodents (equipped with a modern surgical suite and ample testing space), a dedicated wet lab for student/faculty research, and human subjects research spaces.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Earned doctorate in neuroscience or related field
* Record of (or potential for) scholarly productivity
* Commitment to inclusive pedagogy, diversity, and equity
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Demonstrated success mentoring students of color
* Successful teaching experience in higher education, including development of inclusive pedagogy
* Demonstrated success engaging undergraduates in research
