SLU is a great place to work and I am REALLY hoping that at least one of these positions will be a neuroscientist that can teach one section of our neuro lab or a neuro elective. Although these are one year appointments, next year we expect to begin a search for four (!) tenure-track positions with teaching and research expectations.

Responsibilities: Each of the two successful candidates will be responsible for teaching two courses per semester: General Biology: Information Flow & Evolution (BIOL 1240), and one upper-division elective in Fall 2022; General Biology: Matter & Energy (BIOL 1260) and one upper-division elective in Spring 2023. Electives may include cell biology laboratory, evolution, genetics, neuroscience or other courses in the candidates’ area of expertise.

The General Biology course sequence at SLU is offered in large-enrollment multi-section courses, taught by a collaborative team of instructors. The successful candidates will join a vibrant community of instructors and staff that will provide initial and ongoing support throughout the year.

Appointment date: The positions will begin in August 2022 and extend through May 2023 (9 months).

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications: A PhD (or doctoral equivalent) in Biological Science is required at the time employment begins.

Let me know if you have any questions.
