Dear Colleagues,
Are you still catching your breath after the end of the semester like us, and haven't quite gotten around to registering for the NTC? We've extended the registration deadline to 5pm ET on June 26th, so don't worry, there's still time for you!
The NTC is a 2-day teaching conference held annually in Winston-Salem, NC. This year the conference will be held on July 20th and 21st with a welcome reception on July 19th. We feature talks, posters, roundtable discussions, and workshops geared toward bettering all aspects of the undergraduate teaching of neuroscience. This year, our theme is Leadership and Character Development in Neuroscience, and programming under this theme includes quite a bit of professional development, as well! I'm thrilled about our schedule this year. The overview of the weekend is pasted below and the full schedule is attached.
In addition to content, attendees at the NTC can build collaborations with other teachers of neuroscience, attend a welcome reception at Wiseman Brewing, a wine and cheese reception (this year with "serious" games) during the poster session, collect neat NTC swag, and registration includes breakfast and lunch on Thursday and Friday, with plenty of coffee. I'd like to emphasize here that this is a highly collaborative conference. We want this conference to be a friendly space where we can focus on sharing ideas so that we can all better our teaching.
We also have a virtual registration option for those of you who would like to participate but can't travel to Winston-Salem. Virtual registration includes asynchronous, on-demand access to posters, pre-recorded talks, and all other electronic material for the conference (e.g., materials submitted by presenters).
All information about the conference can be found on the website, https://www.neuteachingconference.org/
You can also find updates on Instagram @ntc_conference, on the Teaching Resources for Biological Psychology and Neuroscience FB page, and if you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to reach out to conference co-Directors: Melissa (masicaml [at]wfu.edu), Christina (cragan8[at]gatech.edu) or Katy (lackak[at]wfu.edu).
Hope to see you in July!
Sincerely,Melissa, Christina, and Katy
