Good morning FUN friends,
Join us this afternoon (March 31) at 4 pm (EDT) to continue thinking about thriving in the changing landscape of higher education. This month we will focus on cross and inter-disciplinary Neuroscience courses. The Higher Ed literature indicates that newer faculty have increased inter- and cross-disciplinary training and interests, that our diversified student body wants more connection to their lived experiences, and that reduced faculty lines and efficiency in cross-listing courses is likely to be our long-term future.
Several FUN members will discuss their courses that cross into or cross-list with Art, Women and Gender Studies, Film, and Philosophy. They will share their experiences with the power of making connections with student’s lived experiences, how different perspectives impact scientific inquiry, and dealing with potential barriers to teaching credit and enrollment. Following the panel discussion we hope others will share their experiences and engage in dialogue together.
Come and gather ideas on how to offer classes that serve lots of different types of students, that are always full, and that make us indispensable to our institutions!
Friday, March 31 at 4 pm (EDT) – Register Here<https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZAscOqrpzsjHNA6R472q2tfQ5EfATNLLpM1>.
Your FUN Final Friday Team,
Amy Jo, Shannon, Barbara, and David
