Hello FUN colleagues,
As this semester gets going, we want to put on your radar two upcoming sessions to help you stay strong and prevent burnout (unless you are a kid from the 80s and still appreciate that high school clique).
1. The Sept 29 FUN Final Friday on Preventing Burnout, 4 pm ET. Facilitators will present tools to apply in the moment to help keep us all moving forward toward our goals this semester! Register here.<https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZYqcuugqzIoHNeIaR0tjap3nLLD27yAum1_>
2. See the forward below from FLAMEnet on an upcoming in-person or virtual meeting on Fueling the FLAME in the Face of Burnout: Growing a Community of Institutional Change Makers in a World Filled with Challenges.
In addition, here<https://www.chronicle.com/newsletter/teaching/2023-08-10> is a recent resource from the Chronicle for Higher Education on the topic.
Hope things are going well so far,
Your FFF team

We are happy to announce that the application for the FLAMEnet workshop will be open for another week!
The theme of FLAMEnet 2023 is Fueling the FLAME in the Face of Burnout: Growing a Community of Institutional Change Makers in a World Filled with Challenges.
As instructors, staff, students, and administrators, how might we stay energized as change agents to foster our own development in the face of challenges and failure?
In this workshop, our goals are to:
1) engage in guided discussions and intentional community building to recognize sources of our burnout and practice approaches to support our own well being,
2) develop plans to apply these strategies to support students through challenges using non-cognitive factors,
3) shape the future of FLAMEnet as a self-sustaining community of change agents who work in unique institutional contexts and collaborate to multiply our impact.
This workshop will be delivered in person and online. There are travel funds based on need available for the people that apply before September 8th! So submit your application today. Application closes on September 8th and acceptance notifications will be sent before the end of September. See attached flyer for more details.
If you have questions about the application, feel welcome to email - info at flamenet.org<mailto:info at flamenet.org> or check the video of FLAMEnet board members going through the application process.<https://us06web.zoom.us/rec/share/d3RV2s81UDw-zICcZ_q3xxzPFhSGZNCV40q0-3oZm1ReHhqxIWTFbsU0UaWcAiJZ.cMOzHkugNqHaZpIw>
