Dear All,

The Shen Lab<https://www.fxshen.com/shenlab> will soon be announcing an immediate opening for a full time Fellow to support the expansion of a new Career Network in Neuroscience & Society<https://neuroxcareers.org/>. This is a grant-funded position, supported by the Dana Foundation. The Shen Lab is directed by Dr. Francis Shen, JD, PhD, a faculty member at the Harvard Medical School Center for Bioethics, MGH Department of Psychology, and Harvard University Affiliated Professor at Harvard Law School.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow for Career Network in Neuroscience & Society
Title of Postdoc position: Research Fellow in Bioethics
School: Harvard Medical School
Department: HMS Center for Bioethics

Location: Boston, MA
Duration: One year with the possibility of extension
Salary: Consistent with NIH guidelines

Primary Supervisor: Francis X. Shen, JD, PhD

Description: Neuroscience and society fields are rapidly expanding. From neuroethics and neurolaw, to neuroarchitecture and neuromarketing, neuroscience is increasingly being applied outside the lab and medicine. Yet the students, practitioners, and scholars who engage in neuroscience and society work are not representative along multiple demographic and cultural dimensions. To address this challenge, the Dana Foundation Career Network in Neuroscience & Society will: recruit new people, create and communicate new opportunities, and connect people and opportunities to catalyze new careers. The Career Network will be especially focused on reaching individuals, institutions and geographies that have not been previously active in neuroscience and society work. The Career Network Fellow will be mentored by Dr. Francis Shen, JD, PhD, and will have an opportunity to work in the vibrant Harvard Medical Center for Bioethics. The Fellow will support all aspects of the project, including creating virtual and in-person network events, extensive communication with neuroscience and society stakeholders, and developing the Career Center website, establishing a social media campaign, and co-leading a team of talented student research assistants. This is the perfect position for someone who wants to see neuroscience advance the common good.
