Hello FUN Friends,
I hope your Thanksgiving break was well spent and that you filled up your tank to make it through to the end of the semester!

If you are brave and want to start planning for spring already – please join us tomorrow, Dec 6 at 4 pm (ET) as we discuss alternative, specifications, mastery-based and un-grading practices. Are you interested in learning more about them, how to implement them or why you might consider this a more equitable practice in your classroom?

Two alternative grading experts, Katie Mattaini<https://as.tufts.edu/biology/people/faculty/katherine-mattaini> and Drew Lewis<https://www.drew-lewis.com/>, will offer you a chance to think about this for next semester’s assessment plan. They will introduce several alternative grading practices, discuss strengths and drawbacks, provide examples from their own teaching, and give you opportunities to consider how you might implement one or more in your Spring 2025 classes (or beyond).

Please feel free to share this link with colleagues, this topic is not really Neuro-specific, and we welcome more participants that can benefit from our session.

Please register here for Dec 6 at 4 pm (ET): https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEtde6qpzIqGNenHGN2cHLzGavo46RT-2wW

Best of luck as we push to the end!
Amy Jo, David, Shannon and Barbara
