Hello FUN colleagues,

It was so good to see some of you recently at the Annual SFN Meeting in Chicago!

This Friday, we host the October 25 FUN Final Friday at 4 pm (ET). Will you join us??

Have you ever wondered if a classroom activity “worked” or left a class wondering “are my students learning anything”?

If so, join us for a discussion of how we can meaningfully assess student learning and engagement within the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL). Hear a few examples of how you can create research paradigms using quantifiable changes in student knowledge or attitude to improve student outcomes and, maybe, to publish. Then, work on your own ideas by crowdsourcing with our knowledgeable FUN participants!

We are refashioning the Professional Development session on the same topic that the FUN Education committee presented at SFN, and Cristin Gavin will join us as a presenter! We know not everyone makes it to SFN, so we wanted to present this topic in a more accessible format (i.e. free).

We welcome all levels of SoTL knowledge in this session. Don’t know what SoTL is – look here<https://www.centerforengagedlearning.org/studying-engaged-learning/what-is-sotl/> or here<https://isotl.ctlt.ubc.ca/about/sotl/> (and then still join us on Friday!).

Please feel free to share this with colleagues that may not receive this email!

Take care,
