Hi Nadja,

I would suggest Society for Behavioral Neuroscience (SBN)<https://sbn.org/meetings/past-meetings.aspx>, which is always in the summer. It would be more neuroscience-focused than cell biology/physiology, but it is a good meeting. They also offer awards including travel awards<https://sbn.org/awards/abstract-awards.aspx>.

Another possibility, depending on where you research is headed is the International Congress of Neuroethology<https://www.neuroethology.org/>. Ironically, both of those two meeting suggestions were held in British Columbia this past summer, but they move around.

SICB would have been my recommendation as a more general conference, but I understand the timing doesn't work for you.

Hello all,



I am looking for a good, relatively broad scientific meeting focused on cell biology/physiology/neuroscience that runs late spring or summer. I was hoping to return to Experimental Biology but apparently this meeting ended a few years ago. ASCB and SICB are too early. Do you have any other recommendations? Unfortunately, the internet seems to be flooded with questionable listings, so I appreciate your thoughts on meetings that you’re familiar with.



I love taking my early career mentees to SfN where they can be excited and inspired by a broad range of topics/approaches but the timing doesn’t work and so I was hoping to find something similar that runs at the opposite end of the year. We do cellular/molecular neuroscience with immunolabeling/immunoblot in cell culture, worms, and rat brain.
