Hello FUN colleagues,
This Friday, February 28 at 4 pm (ET) Aparna Shah will share how she created and assessed a digital escape room – learn how you can do the same!
You will hear how she designed a digital escape room as an engaging, low-stakes assessment for the introductory neuroscience course (~100 students) using freely available tools. We will discuss the pedagogical benefits of the escape room, including its role in promoting student engagement, teamwork, and active learning through gamification.
Aparna will also highlight student feedback, which indicated that the activity enhanced recall, provided an appropriate challenge, and increased confidence in course topics.
Attendees will leave with practical strategies for implementing their own digital escape rooms to promote collaborative learning in large classes. Bring a topic that you think would be fun to turn into an escape room activity! You might even find a collaborator to make it happen.
