[FUN_Mail] Visiting position in Behavioral Neuroscience at Colby College

Dear FUN members,

Colby College is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology with
a specialization in Behavioral Neuroscience. The position is open for up to
3 years and you will be filling in for me while I continue to do full-time
administrative work. You will be working with awesome colleagues and smart
and talented students. We are specifically interested in someone who works
with rats as our facilities and equipment are all designed for rat models.

We are very well resourced and the lab spaces are pretty new and spacious.
We have a suite of 2 large and 4 small behavioral testing rooms with pretty
much any apparatus you can think of, including 4 operant chambers and 4
startle boxes. Each behavioral test room is equipped with cameras, flexible
lighting options, and Anymaze software. There are three generously sized
animal holding rooms with a variety of caging options and a lovely
dirty/clean cage and bottle wash area. The vivarium also has a surgical
area equipped for a variety of routine procedures.

Up one floor from the vivarium are a large teaching lab for your dedicated
use, a research-dedicated wet lab and a microscopy room. We have an amazing
Lab and Research Coordinator who runs the vivarium and labs, trains and
supervises students, and helps organize and execute experiments. She is an
absolute gem! And, there is already a team of accomplished undergraduate
researchers ready to work with you.

In addition to great resources and generous research support, there is
exceptional support for teaching at Colby and great options within the
department to teach in your area of expertise. The position is an excellent
