[FUN_Mail] An interesting NOFO from the NIH

Hi fellow FUN colleagues,
I know there is incredible uncertainty going on with federal awards – freeze on, freeze off, who knows what is going on. In the spirit of optimism I share the below notice with you all.

I want to make you all aware of a new grant mechanism from the NIH called Promoting Equity through BRAIN Technology Partnerships. The idea is to provide a funding mechanism to pair institutions that have been under-funded by the NIH with the investigators and technology that has been developed with BRAIN Initiative funds. I work with one of these BRAIN Initiative-funded investigators (we create and disseminate flexible, multielectrode arrays<https://camber.emory.edu/>) and thus would be one of the potential partners described below, though there are many other options. I would encourage you to click on the list of U24 Programs (below) and see if your research could be enhanced with this partnerships and attend their webinar in February.

This notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is intended for investigators at institutions that have not previously been major recipients of NIH funding (resource limited institutions). The goal is for these investigators to adopt and integrate BRAIN Initiative resources into their line of research. Applications are limited to utilizing well-developed, well-validated resource(s) described on this  list of NIH BRAIN Initiative U24 Programs<https://braininitiative.nih.gov/research/dissemination/u24-program> or this list of BRAIN Initiative Alliance Developed Resources and Tools<https://www.braininitiative.org/toolmakers-resources/>, and the awards made to PIs at resource-limited institutions.
